On June 24, 2012 our beloved son Jaxson passed away at CHOC after a drowning accident. My family and I were touched by the compassion from the entire staff. We are grateful for their efforts to save our boy and the empathy they showed as we mourned the lost of our first-born.
In an effort to somehow give back, we created team Iron Jax in September of 2012 and participated in our first CHOC Walk in October of that year. What we thought was going to be a small group of family and a few friends grew to a large contingency of Iron Jax'ers sporting red t-shirts (Jax's favorite color) and black capes as we strolled through Carsland (he was OBSESSED with the movie).
We walk for CHOC so that, through research, cutting edge technology, and other resources, other parents won't have to lose a child like we did.
And we walk for Jax. Our 4-year-old little hero. We miss you.
