Team KAILUALANI is a group of family and friends that have come together to support CHOC patients - past, present, and future. Giving Back with Aloha!
We are proud to be participating in the 2016 CHOC Walk on Sunday, October 30.
Let's CELEBRATE 10 years of Team Kailualani at the CHOC Walk TOGETHER!
We couldn't be more proud of our captain, Kailualani! She is the JOY that moves us all. She has led our team the past 9 years with a huge smilie and her awesome (and unique) dance moves and with your help, has raised over $125,000. Mahalo plenty to all of you that has played a part in our success. This year, we celebrate 10 years of walking for CHOC! It is with all of our love and support that Kailualani continues to grow but from the beginning, CHOC has been there for her and she has come a very very long way.
Kailualani was born with a bicuspid aortic valve and a rare chromosome abnormality (partial deletion #7). She spent an entire childhood being an expertly served patient of CHOC Cardiology and CHOC Genetics and is extremely grateful to have this opportunity to give back to CHOC for her years of personal care but more importantly, for the future children of our community.
Kailualani is now 19, and some may say too old to be called Baby K but that won’t stop us. Baby K is considered Special Needs as she is intellectually disabled however, this does not define her. She is also just a typical teenager. She enjoys school, plays sports, likes to travel, and frequents Disneyland. She adores books, avoids bedtimes, and loves to share a smile. Above all, she loves to laugh, Loves music, and really LOVES to dance.
Please join us in our efforts to raise needed funds to support the care, services, education and research that CHOC Children’s provides children in our community. CHOC relies on the support of the community to meet it's goal of providing every child with healthcare. With our support, no child will be turned away.
Together, we will help ensure our kids’ futures will be brighter than ever.
